Sunday Service
On Sunday mornings, we gather to worship at 10:15 am.
It is a gift to gather each week as we seek to Grow In Faith Together! During worship, we share our love of God and are reminded to follow in the Way of Jesus. Worship can inspire us to live lives of service – both locally and globally. Our faith and beliefs can impact every aspect of our lives – at home with our families, at work or school, and during our interactions within our many circles of community. At Hampton United Church, all ages gather to pray, to sing and to learn together. We question the place our faith has in our daily lives and how we share our understanding of God and Jesus’ ministry with friends, family and others. We seek to celebrate and care together; to be welcoming and inviting. Together, we struggle to find faithful ways to respond to issues in our community and in our world and we pray with one another and for one another. Children and families are welcome to make use of our Pray & Play Space during worship at the back left of the Sanctuary. |
Special Services

Throughout the year, Hampton United Church holds special services to mark significant events, milestones and transitions in people’s lives and/or to celebrate the sacraments (communion, baptism) as a faith community.
Communion
All are welcome to share in the table fellowship and sacrament of holy communion, whereby we remember Jesus’ ministry and his message to love and serve one another. Communion services are held during Sunday Worship throughout the year.
Baptism
Baptism is time of celebration for young and old! In the United Church, baptism is a sacrament whereby the whole congregation celebrates their faith and commits to supporting the spiritual growth of the child, or adult, being presented. As a church family, we pledge to bring them into awareness of God’s presence and love throughout their lives. Would you like to inquire about baptism? Contact our office.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a time when we affirm the desire to follow in the footsteps of Christ. Within the United church, many of our members are baptized as children, confirmation is when an indivudal confirms their baptism as an adult (commonly around the age of 14/15 but there is no time limit!). Confirmation is when those baptized as children make a conscious, and public, decision to follow in Christ’s footsteps.
Weddings
Hampton United has an inclusive marriage policy, meaning we welcome all couples regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity!
It is customary for the couple to meet with the Minister before the ceremony, both to plan the nuptials and to participate in pre-wedding counselling. When a marriage takes place in a church, it reminds us all that God is a partner and a source of spiritual nourishment within the marriage relationship; This provides the couple with a spiritual foundation which can help strengthen and enrich married life for years to come.
Note, weddings are preformed at an additional fee. Interesting in having your wedding at HUC? Contact our office.
Funerals/Celebrations of Life
We acknowledge and celebrate the lives of loved ones and friends who have died. It is customary for the family to meet with the Minister to plan a funeral service/celebration of life. Note, weddings are preformed at an additional fee. Has a loved one died? Contact our office to inquiry about funeral preparations.

HUC Heart
During Sunday worship as a congregation, we share our celebrations and concerns with one another. Those who have concerns are welcome to receive a comforting Hampton United Church (HUC) Heart for themselves or someone in need.
This time in our service reminds us of our calling to be Helping, Understanding and Caring (HUC). These little hearts have been lovingly made by members of our church family and you are welcome to take and share them as they will spread the prayers of our congregation out into the world. If you have a celebration to share, you may wish to contribute change to our Blessing Jar. The money in the Blessing Jar goes into our Benevolent Fund to help others in our community. |
