Our Story

Our faith community has had a presence in our town since 1871, but was not always known as Hampton United! HUC came into being in 1825 during “church union." The faith community has a long history in town of faithful discipleship and service. Some highlights include the building of Ossekeag place in 2009, a Seniors’ Apartment Complex situated next door to the church building, as well as our annual Good Friday Fish Fry and Strawberry Festival in July.

Hampton United Church built the Seniors’ Apartment Complex that is situated on our property (25 Robb Court) and continues to support its operation. If you would like to learn more about vacancies at the complex, please contact Ossekeag Place at 506-832-3930 for information

What is a united church?

The United Church of Canada is a Christian denomination known for its progressive values and inclusive welcome. Our denomination was formed in 1925 with the union of Methodist, Presbyterian, Congregational, and other Christian churches. We carry gifts from each of these founding faith communities, and from our rich history as faithful disciples over the past century. In the United Church all genders and sexualities are welcomed, and women are ordained and serve in leadership roles.
